To make its modular energy storage systems even more effective, Commeo GmbH, specialists in innovative battery technology, are presenting their latest development in the compact storage block series at The Smarter E Restart / Intersolar 2021 trade fair: the esbL71E. Specially developed for industrial high-voltage systems, the pluggable lithium-ion battery (NMC) with pouch cell technology reliably delivers 7.1 kilowatt hours (kWh) of energy with a capacity of 139 ampere hours (Ah). The same values characterise the individually switchable versions with relays for 48-volt systems (esbL71ER), which are also available.
The new development also impresses with its particularly high energy density of 162.2 Wh/l, its high discharge capacity of 6.4 kW and its cycle stability of over 5,500 charging and discharging processes.
High integration capability and safety
With the new Energy cell chemistry, Commeo is once again expanding its modular system in order to meet customer requirements and the constantly growing demands on energy supply in the industrial and commercial sector even more precisely. Thanks to the integrated flame filter developed by Commeo, among other things, the energy storage block offers the same unique features in terms of functional safety and environmental protection as its proven sister model Longlife esbL44E. Commeo systems with esbL blocks thus achieve the currently unsurpassed rating ‘performance level d’ (PL d) according to the Machinery Directive.
However, this safety standard is not achieved at the expense of almost unlimited compatibility and integration capability: The Commeo energy storage blocks are easily and efficiently installed in tried-and-tested, industrially standardised housings with compatible plug-in connections and can be integrated into any conceivable infrastructure thanks to their CAN bus interface and the universal Commeo EMS.
High cycle stability and environmental compatibility
The pouch cell technology developed by Commeo offers more than ten times the cycle stability of conventional round cell technology. “After all, it features significantly improved environmental compatibility due to the reduced use of electrolytes”, explains Michael Schnakenberg, Managing Director of Commeo GmbH.
In addition, its equipment features make the esbL71E energy storage block particularly cost-effective to operate for industrial applications. The latest addition to Commeo’s esb family can be seen from 6th October at the Wallenhorst specialists’ stand B6.240 at the Munich exhibition grounds at The Smarter E Restart / Intersolar 2021.
