Equipped with high-performance pouch cell technology, efficient climate control and integrated power electronics, Commeo GmbH are unveiling their first HV-L outdoor cabinet system at the Intersolar in Munich. The innovation leader for industrial battery storage systems is thus presenting, for the first time, a universally applicable energy storage system in the high-voltage segment,which can be equipped with two different cell chemistries. Implemented in cooperation with the development partner Rittal, the system offers maximum operational reliability and performance at low costs.
The HV-L-Energy/Longlife energy storage system inside the outdoor cabinet reliably supplies up to 800 volts of nominal voltage from up to 15 integrable energy storage blocks from Commeo. This modular design makes it possible to meet almost all individual requirements and operating conditions in industrial processes.
Maximum durability and safety
The pouch cell block technology developed by Commeo also guarantees particularly high values in terms of longevity with cycle rates of over 10,000. In addition, the system’s reliability is measured according to MTBF (mean time between failure) and exceeds 260,000 operating hours. Further safety during operation is provided by integrated features, which in combination lead to an evaluation of the functional safety of the battery system at performance level d (PL d), thus meeting the highest demands. Last but not least, Commeo battery storage systems are equipped with a specially developed flame protection filter integrated into each energy storage block, which prevents the potential spread of fire to neighbouring modules or cabinets.
High charging and discharging rates
By choosing their self-developed pouch cell block technology and modular power electronics, the Wallenhorst specialists guarantee charging and discharging rates of up to 1.8/2.3 C that are geared towards practical industrial use – at a constant rate until the minimum permissible state of charge is reached.
“This takes battery storage technology to a new level,” emphasises Michael Schnakenberg, Managing Director of Commeo GmbH. At the same time, the specialists for intelligent battery storage systems always keep an eye on the costs: The extremely low installation and operating costs of the system are also achieved independently of the manufacturer by the installation of optimally matching inverters. Such compact and reliable units always enable the best possible efficiency and, like the other components of the system, can be modularly adapted to the customer’s needs.
The integrated climate control solution from the development partner Rittal ensures the necessary, effective cooling of the entire system: The renowned blue e+ system guarantees extremely high energy efficiency thanks to innovative hybrid technology.
