Commeo receives prestigious ees award

Energy storage solutions from Wallenhorst for 48 volt and high-voltage applications impress a prestigious expert jury

Commeo GmbH, the specialist for industrial battery storage systems, has now been awarded the prestigious ees award 2021. At the Smarter E Industry Days, an event and conference series run by the trade fairs InterSolar, ees, Power2Drive and EM-Power in cooperation with international industry associations, the energy storage solutions by the innovation leaders from Wallenhorst prevailed against the other nominees. The six-member international expert jury had particular praise for the extremely safe and highly flexible modular system among the Commeo battery storage systems. The criteria evaluated included the extent of technological innovation, the economic and ecological benefit, the options for system integration and operational safety.

New level

The modular battery storage systems made by Commeo can be variably and individually combined, and ensure a tailor-made power supply for industrial plants, IT infrastructure, autonomous charging points, an uninterruptible power supply and compensation of irregularities in the network, as well as power supply for all kinds of special machines. The systems are equally suitable for integration into existing plants and applications, and are distinguished by straightforward installation and modularity.

The specialists from Wallenhorst guarantee this by providing the freedom of choice between several cell types and different cell chemistries, consistently high C rates, an extremely high cycle lifespan, and open communication interfaces that use CAN bus or ethernet connections to inverters, energy management systems and chargers. In addition, Commeo offers the control function ‘Battery 4.0’, which enables remote monitoring and smart maintenance of the system with a special solution for EMS applications.

“This raises battery storage technology to a new level. What’s more, our safety features guarantee maximum operational safety in accordance with performance level d, even in the improbable event of accident due to heavy external damage,” as Michael Schnakenberg emphasises. In order to fulfil the safety requirements, the Commeo battery storage systems are equipped with an in-house flame protection filter at the module level, which prevents a potential spread of fire to adjacent modules or cabinets.
