As one of the first European manufacturers, the innovation leader in the field of industrial battery systems, Commeo GmbH from Wallenhorst in Lower Saxony, Germany, is now also presenting its forward-looking storage technology now also with pouch modules. This system features up to ten times the cycle stability of round cells currently in use, offers maximum safety and reliability, and all the advantages of the patented, unique modularity of Commeo battery systems.
For many professional applications, the cycle stability of the energy storage technology used is one of the most important decision-making criteria. For this reason, Commeo GmbH now offers its uniquely modular, patented lithium-ion battery systems with pouch cells. The main advantages of these energy storage systems are up to ten times greater cycle stability compared to conventional round cell technology and the significantly improved environmental compatibility due to the reduced use of electrolytes. In addition, pouch technology is even more cost-effective compared with the comparable capacity of conventional systems.
Flexible and safe
“Commeo’s intelligent 48-volt and high-voltage battery systems with pouch technology can be flexibly combined individually and are particularly suitable for the customized energy supply of industrial plants, IT infrastructure, self-sufficient charging stations, PV systems, uninterruptible power supply and the compensation of irregularities in the grid,” explains

At the same time, the well-known advantages of Commeo battery systems remain fully intact: In addition to their high energy and power density, they have unrestricted black start capability, are particularly suitable for off-grid systems and are especially easy and safe to install.
“Battery 4.0”
The Commeo battery systems are just as easy to integrate into existing solutions or to expand as needed. The Wallenhorst specialists ensure this through open communication interfaces via CAN bus or Ethernet connections to inverters, energy management systems and chargers. In addition, Commeo offers the “Battery 4.0” control function: This enables remote monitoring and smart maintenance of the system during operation. “This guarantees reliable monitoring of each individual energy storage block,” judges Frank Vöge. Last but not least, the additional thermal advantages over round cells that are rooted in pouch technology make the system ideal for almost all industrial applications.
Long service life and top performance
For this reason, the specialists at Commeo offer their pouch cell systems in different variants according to the specifics required: In each case, the cycle stability depends on the performance of the individual energy storage block and the type of application. The capacity and performance of the battery system can be individually scaled almost indefinitely by using additional modules. There are thus no limits to the professional use of Commeo Pouch cells. The systems can be ordered immediately and will be delivered from the beginning of 2021.
