In the renewable energy era, possible production losses as a result of a voltage drop or a total failure of the power supply present a huge challenge to industrial companies. A halt in production and high costs inevitably result. A reliable, continuous power supply is therefore one of the most critical pieces of infrastructure for production plants. These include sensitive industrial manufacturers, computer centres, telecommunications and wind power plants or the supply of charging stations for electromobility. These stations cover a range of applications, from public transport to professional use of forklift trucks. The completely new energy storage block from global innovation leader Commeo offers reliable protection against losses due to a lack of energy reserves: with the highest levels of performance and flexibility, lowest costs and full compatibility with current industry standards, it meets even the most individual of requirements for futuristic energy storage.
The core component of each Commeo product is the energy storage block that we developed and manufactured ourselves. This patented electrochemical energy storage unit takes a futuristic approach: instead of focusing on a single chemical composition and a single cell type, the unique construction of the energy storage block means that almost any available alternative can be incorporated. This ensures the most diverse applications in professional use conceivable today. For reasons of availability and cost efficiency, the main focus of Commeo engineers is the futuristic lithium ion technology.
High energy and power density
The Commeo energy storage block is suitable for customised application in standardised industrial racks and is supplied with a plug-and-play plug-in system. Fitted with a state-of-the-art battery management system, which we also developed ourselves, the energy storage block offers an energy density of up to 144 Wh/kg (or 220 Wh/l) and a power density of up to 660 W/kg (or 970 W/l). These densities are reached as a result of extremely low internal resistance, an optimised heat and current flow and the highly flexible interconnection logic in the individual energy storage blocks.
Utmost flexibility
Its compact design enables interconnection of up to 54 individual units in a single standard industrial rack. This creates an output of up to 320 kW – other systems normally have a maximum output of 50 kW. This is in addition to the most flexible aspect of the system to date: per rack, the Commeo energy storage block offers 350 interconnection configurations between 50 and 1000 volts, and up to 400 amps.
Utmost efficiency
This creates unprecedented cost efficiency, which reduces the payback period of a Commeo system to around two years – at the same time offering full compatibility with existing installations and lower space consumption.
Other advantages of the Commeo system are the practically tool-free assembly, the parallel security system, its unrestricted CAN-Bus compatibility and the patented functional design.
